My dearest Uriah,
From the moment I heard your first cry I knew you were strong.
Uriah.
Your very name is a reminder of your strength, after all, you were named after one of King David's mighty men.
Ethan and Daddy with little Uriah
Whether battling severe acid reflux, weird allergies, hernia, adversity, misunderstandings, sibling rivalry, or your own gift for clumsiness (which you inherited from you Momma), you continue to be a warrior. You smile in the midst of life's storms and when the rug does get pulled out from under you , you are up and running again in no time.
Ever since you were just a wee one you have been an adventure seeker. Sticks become guns... even at a young age you have assumed a "protector" role and currently your dream is to grow up and become a police officer.
The world is your playground.
To you my dear boy, life was made for exploring.
Whatever you do, you do it with passion and zeal. I learn so much from you, my little blondie. You teach me how to embrace life and live it to the fullest. You have taught me that no matter how awful the day seems to be, there is always a silver lining that can be found. You have shown me how to laugh at my own mistakes. You have taught me patience, perseverance, and have shown me what true joy is. You have made me a better Mom... just by being special you!
I love the way you value your role as a brother. You enjoy helping your siblings and surprising them by giving them special homemade gifts or doing chores for them. You have a beautiful heart that enjoys making others smile.
You wear many hats my precious boy.
You are a fun loving super hero...
a clown who loves to make people laugh.
You are an awesome artist...
and a spunky athlete.
You are a creative cook
and a horse lovin' cowboy.
You are a thrill seeker and are not afraid to branch out on your own and take the road less traveled.
You have a heart that seeks after the Lord and you find yourself most at home amongst His creation.
You live life abundantly and your contagious zeal for life rubs off on those around you.
You are an excellent fort builder...
and creator.
You enjoy helping with projects around the house whether it is helping Mom in the kitchen or Dad with a building project.
You smile DAILY, a precious gift that I pray you will always be able to have even in the midst of heart ache and pain.
You are a curious boy... and if you have a question about something you are bound to find the answer for it.

ReplyDeleteThanks Devon! :)
DeleteBeautiful and what a way to describe your darling boy. He is truly a gift, a precious gift not only to you but to anyone who knows him, or even meets him. I am glad we know him and you have allowed us to be a part of your life.
ReplyDeleteLove The Criders
Thanks April for your beautiful words and for your friendship. :)
DeleteI happened to jump to your page via a scripture a friend sent me on "pintrest". I was excited to find a Christian Mommy with a loving heart. I then scrolled to this post. I am now sitting at my son, Jacob's bedside crying at the thought of how similar a gift God gave me. My little blessing just turned five this weekend. Thank you for helping me reflect on these past years, as you have with your little one. I look forward to reading more.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to my little spot on the web Kelseylynn (beautiful name). I am amazed how the Lord uses this broken vessel, this weary Momma who is learning how to guide her children to be Christ followers. Some days I succeed and some days I show them exactly why we need a Savior. Enjoy your little Jacob... these years go by too fast even though the days seem long. Praying for you and your precious family today.
DeleteBlessings and thanks for reading,
Dawna
